The Combat Operator is an ezine for operators and armed security contractors.
I started TCO to give an honest, unfiltered and balanced view of the global combat security contracting market. This new industry is not perfect. In fact a few of the actors on the world stage are not even good, as the main-stream media are quick to point out. But what is less, or often never reported, is what life is like for the vast majority who are performing well in an exceedingly difficult arena with little oversight and direction.
We didn’t ask for the creation of this industry, instead we found it laying at our feet. Either way you look at it our job is one that needs doing and therefore must be done by someone. Since the U.S. and European governments have, over the past 2 decades, reduced their military capacity while simultaneously increasing their global commitments to security it does not take a genius to see that there is a coverage gap.
TCO produces original content as well as relays of news articles and commentary from other sources.
